IFCS will be taking applications from low-income families, who would like to receive a Thanksgiving Basket and/or a December Holiday Basket, from September 19, 2016 through October 28, 2016.

IFCS’ Holiday Program is designed to:

  • Allow children to experience the joy and magic of the season
  • Give families the makings for 2 holiday meals (Thanksgiving and Christmas)
  • Relieve some of the financial burden that families experience during the season

All families who register will be given a priority number.  This number is equal to the number of times in the past that the family has registered for the Holiday Program.  The higher the number, the less likely that family will be sponsored.  The lower the number, the more likely the family will be sponsored.

Thanksgiving Basket Program

The IFCS staff has secured enough resources to provide a holiday meal for up to 550 families.

Christmas Adopt-A-Family Program

Due to the priority number system and depending on how many sponsors are available to sponsor families, we cannot guarantee that every family will be sponsored.

Important Note:  It is possible that some families who are sponsored for Thanksgiving will not be sponsored for the Adopt-A-Family Program.  This will still add a number to a family’s priority number.

To sign-up for the Holiday Programs, please bring the following paperwork to IFCS:

First-time clients need

  • A valid photo ID for the presenting adult, and copies of IDs for ALL other adults in household
  • Proof of address dated in the past 30 days with client’s name on it (ex., Xcel bill)
  • Proof of income dated in the past 30 day (ex., most recent paycheck stub, proof of unemployment, child support, etc.)  Call IFCS to check other acceptable documentation.
  • Original birth certificate or Social Security card for every child under 18.
  • 18 year-olds who are no longer in high school cannot register for the program

Returning clients

  • Proof of address dated in the past 30 days with client’s name on it (ex., Xcel bill)

Please note:  If you have not been to IFCS after September 15, 2013, you will need to complete a new 2-sided intake form (para obtener información en Español click aquí) and that will take a case manager time to enter the information into our new database.  Also remember that you may not add new members to your household during Holiday Programs registration.

If you have questions about what paperwork to bring when you come to sign-up, please call 303-789-0501 and speak to a case manager about your situation.  When you sign-up, you will need to know your children’s clothing sizes for shirts and pants, their favorite color, at least 2 suggestions of desired gifts under $20, and school name.
