2014 Holiday Programs Help Bring Joy To Neighbors In Need

Through your generous support, IFCS was able to bring cheer to 1,480 our of neighbors in need. These gifts dramatically help reduce the stress and despair often brought with being homeless or near homeless during the holiday season. Thank you for being a BIG part of creating hope.

  • Please know that when our kids wake up on Christmas and run to the tree, they will be filled with joy from the kind gifts you gave them. We thank you more than words can say. – A family of four dealing with continued unemployment
  • I will never forget the “Christmas of 2014”. It is the best one I have ever had. Thank you for the art supplies, Art keeps me sane. I paint a little every day. – Senior women caring for her 54 yr. old disabled child
  • I cannot even begin to tell you how blessed we are to have your help in giving to my children and I a very special holiday…I will always hold a special place in my heart for you – Single Mother of three
  • I know that it is not about the gifts, but the gifts you gave us put smiles on my kids’ faces that I will never forget
  • I want you to know how wonderful I felt being able to choose by myself to select a gift for my son and daughter. It’s empowering and uplifting for my spirits. We have been uprooted from our apartment home of 14.5 years and are facing homelessness, but for this month, this holiday, my children smile because of you.
  • Honestly, there needs to be more people in the world with hearts like yours
  • Thank you for thinking of gifts for my husband and me as well. You have no idea how much it means to me to not struggle to give our kids a holiday as well as food and clothing this time of year. Thank you for thoughtfulness, time and resources.
  • To the family that gave my family joy. We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
  • The shirt is so comfortable. I am so happy to have new clothes, as well as colorful tennis shoes. I feel so stylish. The full set of Farberware is great. My pans are pretty worn out. – Senior gentleman
  • Throughout the year when I shopped, I picked up items and put them back as “extravagant”. Imagine my delight as a I discovered these items among our gifts…things such as a poinsettia, rain boots, mixed nuts, a Red Bird Chicken, and a big bag of Oreos. A billion thanks Santa. You really know how to show a girl a good time. – Senior lady, with a new appreciation for Santa

Yesterday, we put out an appeal for One Can Feed donations, so that we could replenish our Canned Pasta shelf in the IFCS Food Market. Well, our friends David and Ann came to the rescue. They made a monetary donation, so that we could purchase 125 cans at a deep discount. There will be lots of kids and kids-at-heart that have a quick meal. We are 125 meals closer to our goal of providing 130,000 meals of groceries this year. #OneCanFeed
