5 Last-Minute Summer Adventures to Have

Summer is winding down and before you know it, we will be sipping pumpkin spice lattes at the local fair! Fortunately, it’s not too late for a last-minute summer adventure. Here are five, fun-filled ideas that are sure to make sweet, summer memories.

1. Take a Road Trip

Fill up your gas tank, crank up the tunes, and grab a sweet iced tea for the road. Nothing says summer like a scenic stroll with the windows down. Feeling extra adventurous? Take a ride to a neighboring state and take in the new-to-you scenery. Are you low on funds or time? Take a ride down a nearby road that you’ve never been down before. You never know what sights may be just around the corner!

2. Throw a Pool Party

Having your friends and family over for one last pool party will surely help you hold on to those last days of summer. Break out those bikinis, dust off the lounge chairs, and jump in! You can be sure your guests will enjoy this event by keeping the coolers stocked and the snacks flowing. You can even sweeten the deal by planning a few competitive pool games!

3. Camp under the Stars

Summer is the best time for making memories in the great outdoors. Camping will have you interacting with nature and truly soaking in the season. You can invite friends and family to tag along, or, you can enjoy a self-retreat. Pack up your gear and head to a serene site by the water. Not able to get away? Pitch a tent right in your own backyard! Either way, be sure to bring lots of marshmallows for roasting!

4. Hit the Trails

Find a local trail or a nearby mountain and take a hike! Now is the perfect time to take in the seasonal landscaping and summer air. Pack a small backpack with trail snacks, fresh water, and a notebook to log your travels. Looking for another way to spice up your hike? Try printing out a nature-themed scavenger hunt!

5. Backyard BBQ

What better way to wrap up summer than burgers and dogs on the grill? Be sure to invite your friends, family, and neighbors to make it an event to remember. You could even host the barbecue potluck style! Ask guests to bring a mix of appetizers, entrees, and desserts for a well-rounded food affair. If you want to spruce things up, grab a few fun yard games for even more memory making!

Choosing any of these five last-minute adventures will be a sure fire way to end your summer making memories that will last a lifetime!
