If you’re trying to find the best dog breed for your family, you have many considerations to take. To help you narrow your search, this list below should help you. There are many breeds that could be suitable for your family, but here are five that are sure to be a hit.

1. Pembroke Welsh Corgi

Only needing minimal exercise and full of love for people of all ages, this breed could be a hit with your fam. The Pembroke Welsh Corgi was originally bred as a herding dog. As a result, you will notice they are very protective.

They will bark loudly to alert you of visitors. Don’t worry, though, since they quickly warm up to good people. Also, you should know this breed will live between 12 and 15 years. They have charming personalities, and you will find them easy to care for, too. Their hair only needs to be brushed once a week. Look today to see if there are any Pembroke Welsh Corgi puppies for sale in your area.

2. Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

Another great small dog your family could enjoy is the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. You can find them in all kinds of beautiful color combinations, and they are well known in pop culture. Charlotte in “Sex in the City” owned one, and you might recall that former President Ronald Regan and his wife Nancy lived with Rex while in the White House.

If you want a smart dog who is easy to train, this is a great option. Your dog should live anywhere between nine and 14 years and should weigh no more than 18 lbs. There also won’t be too much of an issue with shedding for you.

3. Golden Retriever

When searching for a larger dog your family will enjoy, you really should think about a Golden Retriever. These loveable pups are happy inside, and they love to get outside, too. For those of you who want to take your dog along on activities, this is a great breed for you.

This dog is very loyal, and you will notice they are also easy to please. You should have no problems training them, either. Once you own one, you will quickly see why they are so popular.

4. Shih Tzu

Have you considered the Shih Tzu that originated out of China and Tibet? f you choose this breed, your adorable little critter only grows up to be between 8.8 and 16 lbs. You can choose from more than ten color options.

You will appreciate how calm they are, too. This breed will be a good choice if you have young kids. For those of you who regularly have older people in your home, this also should be good choice for them.

5. Afghan Hound

If you choose to purchase an Afghan Hound, your dog should grow to be at least 25 inches tall and weigh up to 60 pounds. But just because you will have a larger dog on your hands doesn’t mean they won’t be great for your family. You can expect your family to be able to enjoy this dog for 12 to 15 years.

Make sure you have an active family that will exercise with this dog. You also might want to only choose this dog if you have a fenced-in yard. You should love how loyal this breed is.

The Perfect Dog

Best wishes as you continue your search. Hopefully, you will be able to find for your family the perfect dog. You deserve a new family addition that will provide you all with plenty of wonderful memories. One of these breeds covered above for you should be a great choice.
