5 Unique Ideas to Get Your Home Ready for the Holidays

One of the best parts of getting ready for the holidays is all the fun holiday crafts that you can make. As you spend time making them, you may find yourself starting to sing Christmas carols, and your home will look as festive as the holidays arrive. Here are some fun ways to get your home ready for the holidays.

Make Holiday Stockings

Even if you do not have a fireplace mantle to hang them from, making holiday stockings is a fun way to welcome in the holidays. You can easily make customized stockings for every member of the family by using applique embroidery. You may want to put a doll on one for a little girl or a train on one for a little boy.

Bake Christmas Cookies

Your whole house will smell like an old-fashioned holiday when you bake holiday cookies. You can make delicious sugar cookies that are just right for cutting out with cookie cutters and decorating by combining two sticks butter, two cups flour, one cup sugar and two teaspoons of vanilla. Mix all the ingredients together. Then, roll out flat before cutting with the cookie cutters and baking for about 10 minutes at 350 degrees.

Create a Holiday Essential Oil Blend

It is easy to create a holiday essential oil blend for diffusing. Your guests may even wonder if your tree is real or fake when you hide some holiday essential oil blend by it. Simply combine six drops fir needle, three drops spruce, one drop orange and two drops nutmeg. Put the mixture in a diffuser and enjoy the fabulous holiday aroma.

Build a Snowman Wreath

It is incredibly simple to build a snowman wreath for your front door. Use some deco mesh to cover a wire wreath form. Then, add some wiggle eyes and an orange felt nose. Do not forget to give your snowman a black felt hat. Finally, hang your finished snowman wreath on your front door to welcome all your guests.

Fashion a Holiday Centerpieces

An old terrarium makes the perfect holiday centerpiece. Simply put some fake snow and some Christmas greenery inside. Add a deer if you desire. Then, position on your dining table.
