Be Safe Online With These Tips During National Cyber Security Month

Each day it seems another company announces a data breach or there is a news story on identity theft. Protect yourself from these cyber threats by following these tips from SingleHop, a provider of cloud hosting services.

Online hacking is a big threat to all of us and puts our personal data at risk. Hackers want this information for many things like creating fake identifications, fictitious bank accounts and even stealing money. While financial and government institutions have been vigilant about tracking down hackers and trying to prevent attacks, there are many things you can do to thwart online thieves.

Several of the most common ways to avoid an attack or hacking are to always be suspicious of email requests for money, never log in to your bank when using public wifi, always log out of public computers when doing using the internet and close the browser.
