Individual Opportunities

Food Bank/Clothing Bank

IFCS volunteers assist clients to select food within established limits. Volunteers also assist clients in the clothing bank.

Food Bank volunteers also sort incoming food by date, pre-packaging select items and stocking shelves as needed.

Volunteers:

  • Must be able to stand for long stretches of time, walk, lift and carry up to 20 pounds. 
  • Morning and afternoon shifts available.

IFCS cannot accommodate court ordered community service due to staffing restraints.

Admissions Assistant Volunteers

  • Responsibilities of the Admission Assistant are to greet visitors, answer and direct incoming calls, verify client eligibility, complete and update client files.
  • Morning & Afternoon shifts available.

Office Volunteers

  • Responsibilities of the Office Volunteers is to assist with organizing items for the IFCS annual special events, assist staff and volunteers with the enrichment programs, assist staff with filing, special projects and general office tasks.

Drivers to Pick Up Donations

  • Driver volunteers ensure all collection site pick-ups are done in a timely manner. The Driver will use the IFCS Van and must be at least 21 years of age. Monday and Tuesday morning pick ups  are usually about 3 hours of volunteer time.

Ambassadors

Assist in networking in communicating about IFCS in the community, represent IFCS at community functions and to serve as community organization and business liaison.
